Microsoft Will Not Continue Supporting Windows 7! Microsoft only supports each version of Windows for so long. For example, Microsoft is currently only supporting Windows 7 until January 2020. What does this mean?

What does this mean if you are using Windows 7? 

In January 2020 Microsoft will stop issuing security updates for Windows 7 operating system, even if substantial security holes are discovered.

Windows 7 will become an even more attractive target for malware developers.

Manufacturers will eventually discontinue backwards compatibility in new hardware, software and drivers.

What do you do now? 

  1. Update your version of Windows! Make sure you are using Windows 10. In January 2020 Windows 7 will not be supported and you run the risk of being vulnerable to exploits.
  2. If you are not currently using Windows 10, you need to consider budgeting and preparing to update your computer. If you are receiving this email for your business which has many computers on Windows 7, please contact our SCC team to talk about major updates.
