On Wednesday 28th February Rohan was a guest speaker for the Year 11 and 12 IDT classes at Carroll College. Rohan gave the students a very informative presentation on Fibre Optics and the use of this type of cabling at Carroll College, around the Eurobodalla and in our global world.

The presentation included a variety of information about Fibre Optics; including what a fibre optic cable is, what it is made of, how it works, its capacity and speed and the benefits of fibre optics.

Rohan also brought in cables and equipment to demonstrate to the students what makes up a cable, how it is all connected and how to test if the cable is working correctly. The students got to see a number of different fibre optic cables, a splicing machine, a cable light tester and a fibre tray.
